Choose College Educational Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to promoting the benefits of pursuing higher education opportunities beyond high school through college going resources, public awareness campaigns, and youth programming.

Choose College Educational services are available to RTF® Client Partners focussed on elevating post-secondary outcomes for all students, offering standardized test prep programming, college prep awareness campaigns and collateral, and STEM extracurricular programming and scholarship.

AAREA®

The African American Regional Education Alliance® (AAREA®) is an initiative of the Choose College Educational Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose overall goal is to emerge, sustain, and grow a regional collaborative network that designs and implements innovative educational services targeting the needs of African American youth and their families in the Bay Area, by engaging in meaningful conversations and reviewing best practices for improving the academic success of African American students.

AAREA’s services are available to RTF® Client Partners committed to uplifting and serving their African-American student communities in pursuit of equitable outcomes for all students, offering an educator-centered annual Professional Development Summit and community-oriented Student Awards Ceremony among other programs.

STEM S.T.E.P.S.

The STEM S.T.E.P.S. for Success program is a family membership program that provides culturally relevant academic enrichment programming and resources for African American families. STEM S.T.E.P.S. has two program components:

  • The Scholar program, specifically designed to provide African American students with practical applications of math and science content in a culturally relevant, real world context
  • The Regional Parent Network (RPN), providing culturally relevant outreach, seminars, activities and services for Parents and Guardians to advocate for their child as well as partner with their local school, District, and educational entities

STEM S.T.E.P.S. is available to RTF® Client Partners focused driving equitable academic outcomes and representation in STEM fields for African-American students.

C3R™: Culturally Relevant and Rigorous Remediation

Culturally Relevant and Rigorous Remediation (C3R™) Intervention Services is an integrated sequence of strategic actions, instructional strategies and tools, and professional development methodology deployed to assess and recommend appropriate differentiated, tiered approaches based on school data needs.

STEP UP! Academy

The STEP UP! Academy is an academic and cultural intervention program for African American families whose students are rising into the 3rd-8th grades.

The STEP UP! Academy integrates project-based interdisciplinary learning focused on Math, English Language Arts (ELA), and study and organizational skills. This program applies a strong focus on Social Emotional Learning within the context of the rich cultural, social, and historical contributions of individuals throughout the African Diaspora.

STEP UP! Academy program components include: Morning and Closing Circles, hands-on STEAM activities, grade-level Math and ELA milestone activities, strategic academic tutoring, daily affirmations, personal and academic goal-setting, and field trips to college campuses, interactive museum exhibits, and more
